Restoration work on windows and doors

Wessex Joinery has carried out a number of joinery projects for a couple who relocated from London to Chepstow. Work includes joinery restoration of wooden doors, sash windows and casement windows, and building a conservatory.

We initially worked on the front elevation of the house which has a large door as well as 2 box sash windows. The couple were so pleased with the work that we carried out, that they asked us back to work on the side elevation of the house which included a bay window made up of 2 casement windows, each one incorporating a discreet door which allows easy access to the garden. The central door had raised and fielded panels and heavy bolection mouldings. Our client said:

“Stephen partnered with us over a number of years as we restored a farmhouse and outbuildings from their perilous state.  Our property was extended over three centuries using different building methods and architectural styles. Stephen worked tirelessly to ensure that every last design detail blended perfectly in context, matching the finest of details when replacing the original (rotten) hardwood doors and windows.

He made himself available for all manner of questions, adapted to our needs and was a complete pleasure to work with from start to finish.  The results speak for themselves and prompt admiration from all our visitors.”
