Replacing and repairing broken bi-fold doors

Bifold doors are an extremely popular way of maximising light and expanding living space, while also creating a seamless connection with an outside patio or garden area of your home.

A couple that we worked with had had bi-fold doors installed as part of an extension to their home. Unfortunately the company that carried out the install did a less than perfect job, leaving them with ill-fitting doors which were hard to open and close which in turn led to problems with leaks and drafts. Unfortunately the installer was no longer in business, so they needed to find someone else to repair the problem and that’s when they contacted us.

Assess and recommend options

First we arranged a home visit to review and assess the installation before recommending options for addressing the problem, alongside associated costs.

Our client opted to replace the doors with new ones but keep the existing frames. This required us straightening and levelling out the top section of the frame which had sagged, as well as fixing the tracks to ensure the new bi-fold doors would glide open and closed without hindrance.

Beautiful new wooden doors crafted to fit

We carefully constructed a set of beautiful new wooden bi-fold doors to match the existing wooden frame in our workshop ready to install onsite. This made installing the new doors as a relatively quick process and minimised inconvenience to our client. Once in situ, the new bi-fold doors looked fabulous, and ran smoothly in their tracks making them really easy to open and close.

It gave us great pleasure to make and fit these new doors, especially seeing the customers joy when they were installed and they could finally open up their living room to enjoy the glorious summer.
