Casement windows

Casement windows image

Wooden casement windows are ones that open on a hinge, usually at the side of the frame. Casement windows hinged at the top are called awning windows and ones hinged at the bottom are called hoppers. They were actually the most common house window before the advent of sash windows in the UK.

Wooden casement windows and awning windows are one of the most popular window styles in modern houses. The many combinations of side hinged casements, top hinged awnings and fixed panes that are available enable you to create the exact style and functionality to meet your requirements.

Casement windows open like a door using a crank and are usually held open using a casement stay. The crank also serves as a locking device. Although there are also many additional fixings available to ensure that a casement window is made secure.

All of our casement window designs are available in a complete range of colours and finishes including; natural wood with a Danish Oiled finish, hand painted or a full factory finish where we can closely match any colour of your choice.
